Bio
Pamela K. Struss, PhD, is a scholar practitioner and is an adjunct professor for the Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Dr. Struss teaches both undergraduate and graduate conflict resolution techniques and practice course: interpersonal conflict resolution, organizational conflict management, conflict resolution theories and practice, mediation theory and practice. She is also a Virginia Supreme Court Certified Mediator for the General District and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts, certified mentor and trainer for VA Supreme Court. Pamela’s specializes in community development, local governance and court mediation.
Dr. Struss is an alumnus of University of Texas Arlington, George Mason University-ICAR and NOVA Southeastern University. In addition to participating in a full academic life she is also a practitioner in the conflict resolution field and has worked with religiously based organizations, governments in Ecuador and Suriname, is a certified Mediator for the Virginia Association of Realtors, and Prince William Association of Realtors.
Dr. Struss has taught the Basics of Conflict Resolution to churches in the U.S., Ecuador’s and Suriname’s government leaders, and Development NGO’s leadership. She conducts research on development, its sustainability, and it’s impact on the environment and society. She has managed several new home building programs and rehabilitation projects for non-profits funded by the Federal and State governments. She has negotiated between builders/developers, local government and interested stakeholders on new projects.
Currently Pam is the President of the Virginia Mediation Network and is a member of the Board of Directors for MC3 Certified.
