Geetha Ravindra has over 30 years of experience as a mediator, facilitator, and trainer in several international, federal, and state organizations. She recently joined The McCammon Group, a leading ADR firm that serves Virginia, Washington, D.C., and MD, as Vice President for Ombuds Services. Prior to that she served as the Director of Workplace Relations for the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals from October 2019 – July 2022. She worked in the ADR Division at FEMA from September 2018 – October 2019 as an Attorney Advisor. Geetha developed the International Monetary Fund’s first Mediation Office in 2012 to informally and collaboratively address internal employment disputes, serving over 3000 staff from over 150 countries. In addition to mediating and facilitating, she provides effective communication and conflict resolution skills training to staff and managers, change management sessions, team building retreats, conflict coaching, and leadership development training programs. She created the Peers for a Respectful Workplace Program at the IMF to provide an intra-departmental dispute resolution resource to address conflicts at the lowest level, and led efforts to promote the Fund’s core values and enhanced anti-harassment policy.
Geetha served as Director of the Department of Dispute Resolution Services at the Supreme Court of Virginia from 1996-2007 where she was responsible for the development and oversight of all court-connected ADR programs and the certification of mediators and mediation training programs. Geetha managed the Dalkon Shield Arbitration Program at the Private Adjudication Center from 1992-1996 where she assisted in the design and implementation of an expedited arbitration program to resolve thousands of claims, as well as custom-designed ADR processes for corporate clients.
Geetha coordinated the Asia Pacific International Mediation Summit in New Delhi in 2015 while Chair of the American Bar Association Dispute Resolution Section. She trained judges and attorneys throughout India from 2002 – 2008 in mediation skills and supported the creation of the first court-annexed mediation program in the High Court of Madras. Geetha has provided conflict resolution training and mediation for staff with the World Bank Group in South Africa, Croatia, and India.
Geetha was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Richmond School of Law and the College of William and Mary Law School teaching mediation and advocacy in mediation from 2008 - 2012. She was Chair of the Virginia State Bar – Virginia Bar Association Joint ADR Committee in 2014, President of the Virginia Mediation Network in 2010, and Chair of the Virginia State Bar Attorney Client Fee Dispute Resolution Program in 2012. Geetha received the Virginia Mediation Network’s Mediator of the Year Award in 2013. Geetha is a CO-OP Certified Ombudsperson, an ACC Certified Coach, a Virginia Supreme Court Certified Mediator, and author of several publications related to ADR.
