Managing Your Mediation

This webinar will focus on strengthening skills in managing the flow of your mediations, balancing attorney participation while empowering parties and applying techniques for high conflict and emotional management. The webinar facilitator will use role plays, polls and chat for additional engagement opportunities.

Presenter Bio: Terry Dysick

Terry C. Dysick is Dispute Resolution Services Parent Education Coordinator; second to hold this position! Terry has been in association with this organization via mediation services, mentoring mediators and parent education classes since 2007. As a business owner of Guidance Inc., she also offers life coaching, workplace mediation, parent/ child mediation and other educational classes to support emotional and behavior management.

Terry derived from Hampton, VA in a military family. Attended Virginia Commonwealth University and majored in Justice and Risk Administration. Terry has held many positions under the umbrella of Judicial Services, including with juvenile delinquents in the juvenile detention and correctional centers, and as a cadre team member working in all VA facilities (when there were 7 of them) providing training and reviewing policies. Terry and assisted the Department of Juvenile Justice Services with developing and managing the first Truancy Center for the City of Richmond, working collaboratively with Richmond’s district court, police department, schools, social services and health Department of Health to provide wrap around services for our clients.

In addition, Terry served in the Army National Guard, worked with sex offenders and provided Sexual Harassment and Assault Reporting Program Services (SHARPS) training for E-6 soldiers and above in the Army Branch of the Military. 

Terry serves the public in other areas including instructing aquatic exercise classes and providing swim lessons for all ages. In addition, she is a licensed CDL tractor trailer driver as of July 2025!

Terry has a true passion for supporting individuals, families and communities!
